THE 7LifeLanguages(tm) BIBLICAL EXAMPLES

There are many examples from Scripture of the 7LifeLanguages.™ As you study and read the Bible, make a point to look for examples of the various languages.  We are confident that you will easily find them, as we at Life Languages Institute®, Inc. are not the ones who divided people into the seven styles of personalities, or languages, but these are from God, The Father, and written about by the Apostle Paul in Romans 12.  The best example of each Language is Jesus, as He was equally fluent in all seven.  As you study the Scripture, you will find examples where He spoke each of them.  Some examples are:

MOVER:

Movers are fast acting, standard-bearers and visionaries who speak the truth with boldness and courage, especially as it pertains to right and wrong.  Who better than John the Baptist fits this description.  He was result oriented, wanted immediate response, was persuasive, truthful, and uncompromising.  He was setting a standard and had the boldness to declare it even to his determent.

JESUS THE MOVER: "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith.  These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone." - Matthew 23:23

DOER:

Martha comes to mind as the diligent, dependable Doer, but also Moses was a Doer.  His leadership was by hands-on example.  He was busy, active, hardworking, dedicated, responsible, and energetic.  Had Moses been a Mover, he would have left the children of Israel there and gone on without them.  Had he been a Shaper, he would have been so organized with so many committees that there would have been no need for manna or other miracles.  Had he been an Influencer, he would have been highly verbal, persuasive, and had them so motivated that they would have run to Israel.  But, God knew that He needed a diligent Doer, who would hang in there and stick with the program according to God's time schedule for getting Egypt out of the people before they entered into the Promised Land.

JESUS THE DOER: "After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciple's feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded." - John 13:5

INFLUENCER:

The Apostle Peter was probably an Influencer.  He often spoke without thinking, yet he was highly persuasive, had a great ability to communicate, inspire and motivate others.  He was naturally impulsive, intuitive, excited about the Lord and became the leader and spokesman for Jesus' chosen twelve world evangelists.

JESUS THE INFLUENCER: "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.  Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." - Matthew 6:34.  "Love one another." - John 13:35.

RESPONDER:

Since Responder is the most affectionate, sensitive, warm, compassionate, and loving of all the 7LifeLanguages™; we believe that the Apostle John, who wrote very moving and heart-felt chapters on love, best exemplifies it.  He was known as the disciple whom Jesus loved.  Another example is most likely Mary, the sister of Martha.  She was both emotionally and spiritually sensitive, and recognized the importance of sitting at the Master's feet.

JESUS THE RESPONDER:  When Jesus mourned "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem...how often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings..." - Matthew 23:37  "When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, ‘Do not weep.'"- Luke 7:13

SHAPER:

Nehemiah was probably a Shaper.  He was a strategist and had a vision and a plan for rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.  He worked under authority, organized the people, supplies, guards, etc. and stayed focused.  He ignored the distractions and carried out his plan methodically and efficiently with single-mindedness, success and excellence.

JESUS THE SHAPER: "After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go." - Luke 10:1

PRODUCER:

Producers are excellent managers of resources and Joseph excelled in his money and resources management abilities for Pharaoh.  Another example is Abigail, as she was prepared to feed David and hundreds of his men, at a moment's notice.  Producers seem to always be prepared, seldom caught by surprise, and when they give, they give their very best.  There is no better example of a Giver than God the Father, who gave the greatest gift of all, His Son.

JESUS THE PRODUCER: "And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all." - Mark 6:41

CONTEMPLATOR:

Isaiah was a brilliant student of God's Word.  He devoted time to understand the ways of God, as well as reflecting upon the character and nature of God.  He was not a surface student, but an in depth scholar.  He rejoiced in spending quality time away from others and alone in the presence of God, continuing to learn of Him and from Him.

JESUS THE CONTEMPLATOR: "Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions." - Luke 2:46
